About us
A private Russian-language school in Arabkir
- Teaching in Russian and, partly, EnglishNyberg School Yerevan is a private Russian-language school in the Arabkir district of Yerevan.
We are the Yerevan branch of a Moscow school and follow the Russian educational standard. The main language of instruction is Russian, with selected subjects and activities taught in English. Armenian culture and language are included in the curriculum. - Full-day schoolChildren can stay at school from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or choose a shorter day until 3:30 p.m.
For students in Grades 1−6, the full-day programme includes two electives per day, an afternoon snack, supervised homework time, and after-school care. - Official enrolment through Moscow schoolsAll our students, regardless of citizenship, are eligible for official enrolment in Moscow schools: S. N. Nyberg Lyceum for Grades 1−4, free of charge, and European Gymnasium for Grades 5−10.
- Academic excellence with a human-centred approachWe have a strong team of teachers and educators and an advanced curriculum, especially in mathematics and languages. Our teaching is evidence-based, while our school environment remains respectful, supportive, and attentive to each child.
- Meals includedThe school has its own kitchen and dining hall, where meals are cooked fresh every day. Meals are included in the tuition: breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack.
We can also provide meal options for children with allergies and vegetarian diets. - School transfer availableSchool transfer is available for an additional fee. Routes are arranged based on students' needs and locations.
For siblings studying in different school buildings, transfer between the buildings is provided free of charge. - Admission by interviewAdmission is based on an interview. Please contact the school administrator to check availability in the grade you are interested in and to schedule a meeting.
- Russian and English at schoolThe main language of instruction is Russian, with selected subjects and activities taught in English.
- Beyond lessonsDuring longer breaks, children can play in our fenced courtyard and on the school sports ground.
The school provides support for students' physical and psychological wellbeing, including class mentors, a medical staff member, and a school psychologist.
The school has an indoor swimming pool. Swimming lessons are offered in small groups, formed by age and swimming ability, with a certified coach. Swimming lessons are charged separately. - A 10-month school yearThe school year runs from September to June. In June, students can attend the school camp.
The school is closed in July and August, and there is no tuition fee for these months.

Teachers: two teachers in the classroom
Our preparatory class helps children get ready for school in a warm, structured, and age-appropriate environment.
Children develop early academic skills: speech and communication, pre-writing skills, basic mathematics, early science and world knowledge, English, music, drawing, and arts and crafts. Learning is built around play, exploration, and hands-on activities.
We also help children develop important social and emotional skills: working in a group, making choices, thinking creatively and critically, showing empathy, and becoming more independent.
Special attention is given to motivation: children learn how to take part in lessons, stay curious, and enjoy learning.
The programme also includes project work, mixed-group electives with first-graders, and a developmental environment adapted to children’s age, behaviour, and individual needs.
Our goal is to make the first step into school comfortable, safe, and joyful.
Tuition: $620* per month, September through June, plus a $600 annual fee.

- Grades 1–6 (2026/27)Students in Grades 1−6 can choose a full-day programme with a balanced workload, or a shorter day until 3:30 p.m. without electives, supervised homework time, or an afternoon snack.Ask about openings
Classes have up to 16 students.
The academic programme includes the core curriculum, cross-disciplinary skills, and a systematic approach to learning.
Electives support students' broader development beyond the core curriculum.
Project work helps children learn to plan independently, work in a team, and take responsibility for shared results.
Homework is completed at school, so children can spend more free time with their families after the school day.
In Grades 1−2, children study mostly with their main teacher. In Grades 3−4, subject teachers are gradually introduced, while each class continues to have a homeroom teacher.
The programme also includes trips, excursions, and school events.
There are no bells: the school day follows a calm rhythm, with transitions managed by teachers.

Project work gives students the opportunity to choose topics, plan their work independently, and collaborate in teams.
Optional afternoon electives are available for an additional fee.

As our students move through the upper grades, the school continues to develop its academic programme and learning opportunities with them.
